SIOR Connect Terms of Use

These policies describe the terms and conditions pursuant to which you may access and use the SIOR Connect service. Please read the rules outlined below carefully. Your use of any aspect of the SIOR Connect service will constitute your agreement to comply with these rules. By using the SIOR Connect service you are also abiding by our overall Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (http://www.sior.com/SIORUserAgreement). Failure to comply with these rules may result in discontinuation of the service.
Submission Guidelines
SIOR Connect is an SIOR member-only messaging service available for use by Active Individuals, Retired Members, Affiliate Member Delegates, and Member Associates.
SIOR Connect messages are for the purpose of communicating information on listings, needs or inquiries, property search requests, completed transactions that have been submitted to SIOR, and member news, which are limited to professional promotions/role changes, professional awards/ achievements, and contact changes. Member news must be related to a current member.
Members have the option to select which types of messages they wish to receive using the SIOR Connect Message Preference form. Messages sent to individuals within targeted areas of practice will include members who have pre-selected their areas of practice within their MySIOR profile.
Subject matter must apply to the selected recipients. SIOR has the authority to stipulate that a message is not relevant for certain membership categories. SIOR has the right to question or reject messages targeted to all members or members in a very wide geographical area. Abuse of this policy may result in restriction of access from SIOR Connect. The overuse of this system and potential spamming of SIOR members is also cause for probation or restriction of access from the system.
Restrictions:
  • Messages must contain the name and designation of the member sending the message.
  • Messages cannot include attachments greater than 2MB. It is recommended to include hyperlinks in the message in lieu of attachments.
  • Messages must include member contact information and designation, if applicable.
  • SIOR Active, Retired, and Affiliate Members are limited to three messages per month. SIOR Member Associates are limited to six messages annually.
  • Members are not permitted to send advertisements or promotions not related to an active property listing or for services or products through the SIOR Connect service.
  • Members are not permitted to send inflammatory, derogatory, or unprofessional material through the SIOR Connect service.
  • Messages cannot contain language that NAR, in its sole discretion, considers offensive or inappropriate, including: threats, obscenity, or abusive, defamatory, discriminatory or sexually explicit material.
  • Messages cannot include any personal or sensitive information about anyone other than the sending member (phone numbers, email or postal address).
  • Messages cannot infringe the trademarks or copyrights of NAR or any third parties.
  • Violation of any policy will result in suspended use of the service.
Submission Process:
  • All messages will be reviewed and approved by SIOR prior to distribution to recipients.
  • Messages are sent from the member using the e-mail platform of his or her choice. However, SIOR will first receive a copy of the message to review. SIOR agrees to review and approve or reject messages within three business days of receipt of the message sent by the member.
  • The email address generated through the SIOR Connect Request form will expire seven days after the submission request has been completed.
  • The email address can only be used one time.
  • Subject lines are predetermined based on the type of message being sent and cannot be changed by the user. (Adding or changing the subject line within his or her own email platform will not affect the fixed subject line.)
  • Members have the option to opt in or out of the service and can select the types of messages to receive and send.
  • SIOR is not responsible for undelivered, unopened messages, or messages blocked by recipients’ spam filters.
Approval Guidelines
SIOR has the right to delay the sending of approved messages due to the volume of requests. SIOR will notify the member if there is a delay past three business days. SIOR will not edit messages for style and grammar; however, SIOR does reserve the right to reject messages that violate any usage policy. The sending member will be notified if a message is being rejected and will be provided a reason why.
SIOR will not provide the email addresses or contact information of any member included in an SIOR Connect message, however, we can provide a total number of recipients.
By agreeing to the terms of use, you acknowledge that the content you submit is yours alone, and not the view, opinion, or material of any other person or company. SIOR does not endorse any message sent through SIOR Connect, and is not responsible for the overall content of the material of messages sent by SIOR members.
SIOR may change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the SIOR Connect service at any time without notice or liability, including the availability of any feature.
By clicking on the Terms of Agreement, you agree to abide by the policies listed above.
