HIGHLIGHTS - Get to Know Jack
SR: What’s the most interesting thing about you that most people don’t know?
DW: I figure out most things and do it in a way that suits me. For example, I’ve never taken a music lesson and can’t read music! I’m not really sure how I’ve figured out how to have such a musical career!

SR: What’s the most useless talent you have?
DW: Well it’s less of a talent and more something I wish I was better at: I’m terrible at golf, always have been!

SR: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
DW: Never take yourself too seriously.

SR: Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
DW: I wanted to be a baseball player!

SR: What was the first concert you ever went to?
DW: My first concert was Ella Fitzgerald and the Boston Symphony. I was 22 years old and still remember it vividly.

SR: If you could time travel, where would you go?
DW: I’d like to have been around 100 years ago when Jazz was really beginning to flourish, so it would be fun to go back in time and watch that all occur.

SR: Finish this sentence: On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me...
DW: Asleep!

SR: Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
DW: The Grand Canyon – I think this should be on everyone’s bucket list!

SR: What would you name your boat if you had one?
DW: “Tantalaura” after my Aunt Laura. She was a lovely, gracious lady, and a relented painter as well.

SR: When did you screw everything up, but no one ever found out it was you?
DW: I used to break into the private school I attended in Boston, the Rivers School, and steal their ice cream on Saturday nights!

SR: If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?
DW: What’s next after our life here on earth!

SR: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
DW: Play a musical gig in front of 5,000 screaming fans! This was in Ireland, and a Country artist, Billy Dean, and I were opening for Kenny Rogers. Nothing beats that kind of high! But more realistically, I think everyone should volunteer in some fashion. There is nothing like giving back to your community and connecting with the people around you.

SR: How do you want people to remember you?
DW: As a guy who stayed the course in his business and who’s music put a smile on folks’ faces.
