Eighteen months after the start of the pandemic we have learned many lessons, not the least of which is that innovation, grit, courage, resolve, and a positive approach to all challenges, will result in the best outcomes. We have also learned that we, as an industry, and as individuals, can connect in many ways. That said, there is nothing like connecting in-person. While we still have a ways to go, it is great to see SIOR begin returning to in-person events, including chapter events, regional events, and of course CREate 360 coming up in just a few weeks in Nashville, Tenn.!
As in-person events resume, I’m reminded why people coming together makes our industry so great. Yes, the networking and deal-making is amazing to see, but for me, it’s seeing the collaboration that comes from businesses and individuals teaming up to improve our communities and industry that’s truly inspiring. This “putting people first” mentality embodies those great characteristics of a real estate leader, and I’m so excited that a few of our SIOR members have shared their stories of doing just that for businesses across the world. Check it out.
As SIOR welcomes its 80th Anniversary this year, (also check out some fun photos and projections of the future), I am delighted to say that we are stronger than ever before. We just wrapped up another round of leadership meetings and planning, and I’ve never been more confident in the future of SIOR. We have an amazing team of passionate individuals who are dedicated to the development of our great organization, including our new incoming president, Patrick Sentner, SIOR. I’ve had the honor of working alongside Pat for many years and I know that his enthusiasm for the success of our organization will lead to a wonderful year ahead.
I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to lead this organization at a time of such significant change and challenge. It has provided me the opportunity to see first-hand the courage, resolve, and strength of SIOR and our members, and has given me a chance to work with a team committed to success. Yes, it takes a village, and we have a great one!
