SIOR Global President's Message
There’s much speculation around how 2020 unfolds: will there be a downturn? Who will win the election? This edition of SIOR Report touches on some of the very issues that will impact the commercial real estate industry, and I think you’ll really enjoy them.
While I can’t predict the future for the country, I can share that SIOR Leadership has been working tirelessly to ensure our organization’s future remains strong and bright for years to come. Our main goal is to ensure the SIOR designation’s value grows, both in the quality of services we deliver and the quality of our members.
Don’t look now but SIOR is 3,400 members strong and growing! Interest in SIOR membership has never been stronger. And while we are growing, we are also committed to Protect the Pin. Protect the Pin? Yes, protect what it means to be an SIOR.
Speaking of what it means to be an SIOR, I’m excited to introduce a new campaign that demonstrates the individual characteristics that make our members so great. There is more to SIORs than their deals; they are also great people who do great things in their communities. Check out our first Real Deal feature on Jack Britvan, SIOR, and his amazing background fighting discrimination and hate around the world.
We are just about done with Q1 2020! Seems like the Portland Fall World Conference just happened. While we’re on the subject of the Fall World Conference, this is the last time you will hear that term. The Spring and Fall World Conferences have all been rebranded as TransACT 360 and CREate 360 respectively in order to reflect the clear value proposition for each conference. TransACT 360 content is focused on strategies and leveraging partnerships with a spotlight on deal making, while CREate 360 focuses on creating ideas, insights, relationships, and opportunities. We are excited to watch these concepts and content develop.
