The new year has brought with it fresh possibilities, unique initiatives, and greater heights. There is no denying how incredible 2022 was for SIOR, with record-breaking numbers in new membership, female applicants, and conference attendance, to name a few. But if 2022 was a time to restart our engine, then 2023 is already proving to be a year of fierce new energy—shifting up a gear and hitting elevated speeds towards a fresh set of goals. After all, SIORs understand that the key to excellence is to always move forward. Our new strategic plan is already in motion, constantly pushing us towards the next level in an ever-changing industry.
Excelling in this industry doesn’t come without obstacles. We are in the middle of a tumultuous era, and with that comes the responsibility to know how to survive and thrive. In this latest issue, SIORs come together to share their best recession-proofing advice. From construction delays and supply chain concerns to adapting to post-pandemic trends, SIOR Report has got you covered. “Doomsday Prepping” is one article I find quite compelling, as SIORs share how they prepare themselves and their clients during downturns. Although I’m optimistic that we are not heading to doom and gloom, but believe we all benefit from preparation for a down market.
The year has barely begun, and we’ve already hit the ground running. In a few short weeks, SIORs from all over the globe will be traveling to Montreal, Canada for our Spring 2023 Event. (Get your passports ready!) This is sure to be another amazing event, with incredible speakers and education, unique events, and top-notch networking. I encourage all who haven’t signed up yet to reserve their spot—it’ll be an event you won’t want to miss!
Somehow, I find myself halfway through my term, but there is so much to look forward to this year, and I couldn’t be more excited to experience it with you!!
Sincerely,
Patricia Loveall, SIOR
