Having the opportunity to serve as SIOR Global President has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Recently, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I added another highlight to my list: spending time with Duke University’s head coach of men’s basketball, Mike Krzyzewski, “Coach K,” during SIOR’s TransACT 360. He shared honest, heartfelt, and REAL wisdom for a roadmap for leadership and success. Over the course of the event, attendees had the opportunity to hear from former Secretary of State, General Colin Powell; fellow SIOR members; CRE leaders from around the globe; and our outstanding sponsors and exhibitors.
During a time when in-person interaction has been challenging, the ability to connect (and reconnect) with our colleagues from across the world remains impactful. I continue to be impressed with the spirit, flexibility, and ingenuity of all of you as we adapt and move forward, together.
Speaking of looking forward, I have the honor of announcing the new members of SIOR's Board of Directors and incoming Regional Directors who will be joining SIOR’s leadership beginning at CREate 360 this October, as well as our Chapter Leadership Council Speaker-Elect, who will be joining the Board as CLC Speaker in Fall 2023. Serving on the SIOR Board has been an honor for me and I know these individuals will have the same experience. Please join me in congratulating them all!

The summer is upon us and the world is slowly opening back up! This issue explores what opening-up could look like and focuses on some of the most pressing topics surrounding the industry – especially how the pandemic has and continues to impact our business.
