In June 2016, Savills Studley acquired Cresa Charlotte. In his thirty plus year career O’Brien has successfully completed a wide range of complex real estate transactions including prime leases, subleases, building sales, sale/leasebacks and strategic land acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to joining Cresa, Tom spent several years as a senior corporate services advisor with Trammell Crow and CBRE, seven years successfully operating his own firm, Providence Real Estate Advisors and prior to that, he dedicated twelve years leading CB Commercial Real Estate Group's operations in the Carolinas.

Tom is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. He is a Member of CoreNet Global, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, the Rotary Club of Charlotte, the Charlotte Region Commercial Board Realtors. He is Past Chairman of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission.
