Tony Machabee, Senior Director, joined NAI Alliance in 2021 as a Senior Associate specializing in industrial and self-storage properties. He represents owners and users in the acquisition, leasing, and disposition of properties throughout the Reno/Tahoe area. His commercial real estate experience includes an extensive background in leasing and sales. Tony is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and is executing his skills in developing opportunities for his clients in Northern Nevada.

Tony has significant experience in analyzing investment opportunities and furnishing guidance for commercial real estate clients while managing the sales and leasing process for professional seamless transactions.

Prior to joining NAI Alliance, Tony was an Associate at Cushman and Wakefield. Before he began his career in commercial real estate, Tony served in the United States Air Force for over 30 years as a C-130 pilot and operations group commander with a top secret security clearance. He retired at the rank of Colonel from the Air Force Reserves in 2023 where he served as the Air Force Senior Director for FEMA Region 9. Tony has led airmen in multiple combat deployments as a tactical airlift pilot and director of operations in South West Asia as well as other areas across the globe. He has served in several leadership and command positions in the Air Force and has served as a congressional liaison while serving in the Pentagon. Prior to his military service, Tony served as the Vice President of a locally owned office equipment dealership.

Tony grew up in Reno, Nevada and attended the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He earned his real estate license in 2019.

In his time away from real estate, Tony enjoys spending time with his wife and kids in the many outdoor activities that the West Coast has to offer.

He analyzed investment opportunities and furnished guidance for commercial real estate clients while managing sales and leasing process ensuring professional seamless transactions. Provided detailed sales and leasing analysis for buyers and sellers as well as tenants and landlords.

Senior Director to FEMA Region 9 United States Air Force Reserves, 1st Air Force NSEP, Tyndall AFB, FL 2/2022 – Present. Supervised 11 Emergency Planning Liaison Officers (EPLO) in Nevada, California, Arizona, Hawaii and Guam. Prepared and responded to multiple disasters in the region ranging from western wildfires to typhoons in the western Pacific with federal Air Force assets. Ensured responses were appropriate and prompt for federal, state, local, territorial and tribal emergency partners.

Emergency Planning Liaison Officer United States Air Force Reserves, 1st Air Force NSEP, Tyndall AFB, FL 1/2019 – 2/2022. Established and sustained working relationships with federal, state, local, territorial and tribal emergency authorities and agencies to facilitate Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) response. Identified potential gaps in resources and capabilities that may require federal military support to include tactical and strategic airlift.

152 Operations Group Commander Nevada Air National Guard (NVANG) 152d AW, Reno, NV 07/2016 – 12/2018. Organizes, trains and equips 2 squadrons with over 140 aircrew and support personnel for domestic operations and wartime commitments. Responsible for $13M personnel and equipment budget. Personally oversaw and developed the MAFFS mission for the State of Nevada. Served as Task Force MAFFS AEG Vice Commander providing coordination / supervision of Reserve, Air National Guard and USFS firefighting efforts. Awarded The Governor’s Outstanding Unit Award with Valor for the first time in over 20 years.

192 Airlift Squadron Commander NVANG 152d AW, Reno, NV 10/2014 – 07/2016. Commands, directs, leads over 100 aircrew and support personnel for worldwide peacetime and contingency operations. Highly regarded for participation in security exchange exercises with Kazakhstan and South Pacific nations. Led MAFFS crews through inaugural training and operational seasons. Served as deployed 737 EAS Director of Operations – OPERATION INHERINT RESOLVE. Driving force behind developing the Advanced Mountain Airlift Tactics Syllabus into a USAF program of record.

Chief of Safety, NVANG 152d AW, Reno, NV 07/2012 – 10/2014. Coordinates all safety plans, programs and assessment as well as analyzes mishap causes/trends, and mitigates operation risk. Awarded 2014 Air National Guard Safety Office of the Year for top safety office out of the entire Air National Guard for innovative development of potential bird strike model. Led recruitment and retention initiatives as 152AW Diversity Council Chairman

Chief of Joint Programs, Legislative Liaison, National Guard Bureau, Washington DC 06/2010 – 07/2012. Represents the Chief, National Guard Bureau as a liaison officer with Congress, including the House and Senate Appropriations and Authorizations Committees. Coordinated with the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, state level joint organizations, and private organizations in support of National Guard joint activities and prepared senior National Guard leaders for Congressional testimony. Increased NGB Counter Drug Program from $15M to $130M in SAC-D congressional funding. Influenced Senate leadership to increase Transitional Assistance Advisors funding to support NG veterans returning from deployment. Educated congress on nuances to effectively expand NG State Partnership Program authorities. Educated Senate staff members on critical role of cyber security in the National Guard. Worked closely with NGB and Nevada congressional delegations to identify Nevada as the next USAF MAFFS Wing. Coordinated key DHS and DoD legislative efforts regarding southwest border deployments.

Air Force C-130 Instructor/Evaluator/MAFFS Pilot, NVANG 192d AS, Reno, NV 03/1998 – 12/2018. Instruct and evaluate current, non-current, upgrade pilots for instrument flight as well as formation airdrop and single ship tactics in different environments including night, NVG and IMC. Deployed multiple times for operations and combat tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, Horn of Africa, Baltic States and Central and South America as well as multiple domestic operations missions. Conducted recruiting and supervised rated and non-rated officer selection boards.
