Board of Advisers. Very Active in Boy Scouts of America since a youth. Member of Highland United Methodist Church. Founded Highwoods Properties in 1979 and spent 17 years there and took company public as a REIT in 1994. Founded Thomas Commercial, later to become Grubb & Ellis|Thomas Linderman Graham, sold to Avison Young in 2012. Retired from Avison Young and founded JRT Holdings in March 2015.

Thomas specializes in Tenant Representation, Investment Sales, and Landlord Representation. Has been involved in several thousand lease and sales transaction over the past 41 years and have mentored well in excess of 100 real estate professionals in the Research Triangle Area and Southeast.
