Wow, what a year it’s been!
With my term as SIOR Global President wrapping up, I cannot begin to express my enthusiasm and gratitude for everything
we’ve accomplished together.
Since being installed as President of this great organization, I've been having a blast attending chapter and regional events, meeting our fantastic members, and seeing firsthand the passion and commitment that drives SIOR. It’s been a pleasure to see the amazing energy and fresh ideas being brought to the table. From market updates, panel discussions, fun events like the Toronto Broker of the Year Awards Gala, to the Memphis BBQ festival, to MIPIM in Cannes, France, our SIOR members consistently set new standards of excellence in our industry. I could not be prouder of SIOR at this time.
Of course, SIOR Global events also continue to impress! The Spring 2024 Event at Amelia Island was incredible, filled with fresh ideas and fun in the sun! SIOR’s International Conference in Berlin brought together diverse perspectives from across the globe — a powerful reminder of the strength and potential within our global SIOR community. With such an incredible track record, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming Fall Event in Los Angeles, where we’ll continue exploring new possibilities and carve our names among the legends.
Building relationships and fostering a sense of community have always been at the heart of what defines SIOR. Attending these events, locally and globally, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see these friendships grow and to be a part of such a supportive and dynamic community. You have heard me many times say that SIOR creates life long and life changing relationships. This year has lived up to that motto in so many ways.
Speaking of lasting bonds, this issue of the SIOR Report is packed with insightful articles and practical advice crucial for nurturing those relationships. From the importance of social responsibility to sustainable practices in our industry, mastering these skills is key to staying ahead. One of my favorite articles is about how industry trade shows can significantly boost your success — I will always be the biggest proponent of putting yourself out there if you want to create relationships that last a lifetime!
As we move forward, I’m excited to welcome Mike Ohmes, SIOR, as your new Global President. Mike brings a wealth of
experience and a vision for the future that is both ambitious and inspiring. I’m confident that under his leadership, SIOR will continue
to thrive and break new ground.
This journey has been a thrill, marked by incredible achievements and the unwavering dedication of all who make up this organization. Thank you to everyone who has made this past year so memorable: To the Board of Directors, our dedicated volunteers, and every SIOR member — your hard work, passion, and commitment have been the driving force behind our success.
Together, we will continue to innovate, inspire, and lead the way in commercial real estate.
