INAUGURAL SIOR MEET AND GREET UNITES CALIFORNIA CHAPTERS


The SIOR Inland Empire & Orange County Chapter, SIOR Greater Los Angeles Chapter, SIOR San Diego Chapter, and SIOR Northern California Chapter joined forces to inaugurate the All California SIOR Meet & Greet event, set to become an annual tradition. Held at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Baccara Resort in Santa Barbara, Calif., the event brought together the foremost leaders of California's commercial real estate sector, providing a prime opportunity for networking, insightful discussions, and professional development. Attendees engaged in dynamic dialogues with industry professionals, participated in a developer spotlight panel, and enjoyed exclusive dining and social affairs. This gathering marked a significant milestone for California's real estate community, fostering unparalleled opportunities to expand their professional network, gain invaluable insights, and chart a course toward collective success through collaboration and synergy.

SIOR CAROLINA CHAPTER SPRING MEETING BREAKS RECORDS

The SIOR Carolinas Chapter Spring Meeting held at the Grand Bohemian in Greenville, S.C., garnered a record-breaking attendance of 170 participants, including members, sponsors, and guests. The event featured insightful presentations from prominent speakers including Greenville mayor Knox White, and Byron Miller, director at South Carolina Ports Authority. Mayor White highlighted Greenville's successful downtown revitalization efforts, while Miller discussed the port's significant growth and expansion plans. In addition to educational sessions, the chapter organized a charity initiative in partnership with Rebuild Upstate, raising over $2,500 to cover material costs for a local project.

 




SIOR CHICAGO CHAPTER HOSTS SPEAKER SERIES LUNCHEON

The SIOR Chicago Chapter hosted its Speaker Series Luncheon at Allegra Banquets in Schiller Park, Ill., drawing over 60 SIOR members and guests. The luncheon provided a platform for valuable discussions and insights into Illinois' business landscape. SIOR Chicago Chapter president Peter Billmeyer, SIOR, welcomed Dan Seals, CEO of nonprofit Intersect Illinois, to lead a discussion on communicating the benefits of the state to companies considering relocation. Key points highlighted Illinois' misunderstood, yet diverse economy, exceptional transportation infrastructure, and leadership in energy production.

 




SIOR CHICAGO CHAPTER RECOGNIZES 2023 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS


The SIOR Chicago Chapter continues its legacy of supporting education in real estate by awarding scholarships to deserving students. In a recent ceremony, the SIOR Chicago Chapter, in collaboration with the SIOR Foundation, proudly presented the 2023 Len Caldeira Scholarships, totaling $12,000. These scholarships were awarded to four exceptional students: Jordyn Dellis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Christian Krull from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Xavier Papillon from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Anna Zimmerman from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Each student received a scholarship of $3,000 presented by SIOR Chicago 2023 Scholarship Committee members Sergio Chapa, SIOR, and Denise Chaimovitz, SIOR. In addition to education funding, recipients are also provided access to career opportunities and internship programs available within the Chicago real estate community.

ADVENTURE AND BUSINESS CONVERGE AT SIOR EUROPEAN CHAPTER'S FRENCH ALPS SKI WEEKEND


Members and guests from both sides of the Atlantic converged in Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France, for the SIOR European Chapter's second annual ski weekend. Sponsored by Axi Immo, led by the SIOR European past president Renata Osiecka, SIOR, the event provided a perfect setting for professionals to converge. Attendees discussed ongoing deals, upcoming conferences like the 4th SIOR International Conference in Berlin, and celebrated new partnerships, including Blackbird Real Estate joining the NAI apollo partnership. Against the stunning backdrop of Alpine scenery, attendees found the perfect balance between networking, adventure, and exhilaration, making memories and connections to last a lifetime..





SIOR KENTUCKY CHAPTER INAUGURATES EXCLUSIVE GATHERING


The SIOR Kentucky Chapter celebrated its inaugural event at the Jeptha Creed distillery in Simpsonville, Ky. This exclusive gathering was attended by approximately 40 members, including title sponsors ARCO and Park National Bank, along with a Nick Cook from Panattoni, SIOR’s Global Industry Partner. The event was a memorable occasion filled with camaraderie and festivities as members came together to celebrate. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the distillery through a guided tour, learning about the intricacies of the distillation process and the fascinating story behind Jeptha Creed production.

SIOR NEW YORK CITY/DOWNSTATE NEW YORK CHAPTER HOLDS WINTER CONFERENCE


The SIOR New York City/Downstate New York Chapter brought together 184 attendees for their Winter Conference at the Two Bryan Park Pavilion in New York. The conference featured a series of insightful sessions covering aspects of the commercial real estate landscape. Shruti Mishra, global economist at Bank of America, an SIOR Global Industry Partner, kicked off the conference with an overview of economic indicators and market trends. Bob Knakal, investment sales broker at JLL, shared his expertise in navigating the sales market amidst challenging conditions. SIOR Global Vice President Saadia Sheikh, SIOR, moderated a fireside chat with Knakal, emphasizing the importance of hard work and client-centric approach in brokerage. Matt McGowan from Bank of America delved into the current state of CMBS lending while Ann Hambly from First Service Solutions discussed the nuances of blend and extend strategies. Futurist and innovation strategist, Nikki Greenberg, concluded the conference with a thought-provoking session, predicting significant shifts in workplace dynamics driven by technological advancements.

SIOR ST. LOUIS CHAPTER HOSTS 39TH ANNUAL METRO MARKET FORECAST


The SIOR St. Louis Chapter hosted the 39th installment of its annual Metro Market Forecast at the prestigious Ritz-Carlton St. Louis hotel. Drawing nearly 600 professionals from commercial real estate and adjacent industries, this breakfast event continues to be the premier gathering in the St. Louis region. Notable SIOR leaders such as SIOR St. Louis Chapter President, Ben Cahill, SIOR, and SIOR Global President, David Lockwood, SIOR, extended a warm welcome to the attendees. The event featured presentations by industry experts, including an industrial forecast from Dan Bamberger, SIOR, an office forecast from Tim Lawlor, SIOR, and a retail forecast from Ben Weis.

INSIDE SIOR VIRGINIA CHAPTER'S INSIGHTFUL WINTER MEETING


The SIOR Virginia Chapter gathered for its Winter Meeting at the Country Club of Virginia in Richmond, attracting over 55 attendees. The meeting started off with a lively reception, providing guests the opportunity to reconnect with peers and sponsors. The event provided presentations from multiple industry leaders covering a wide range of topics. Andy Little from John B. Levy & Company provided a comprehensive review of capital markets, while Jane DuFrane of Highwoods Properties discussed trends in the office market. Ted Morandin of MORPROP Advisors explored changes in the transportation real estate market, and Aaron L. Ouellette from the Virginia Port Authority provided an update on the Port of Virginia. Additionally, Nicholas Luzyszyn of Phoenix Sales Leaders, shared strategies for leveraging LinkedIn for professional networking. Overall, the meeting served as a valuable platform for professionals to exchange knowledge, discuss trends, and build connections.
